Harmonisation
EUTERP has been established with the support of the European Commission, Directorate-General of Transport and Energy. The main objective of the Platform is to support harmonisation in the field of education and training systems for radiation protection experts and better integrate radiation protection education and training systems into general vocational training and education infrastructures. Broad agreement has to be reached on the criteria for recognition of diplomas and qualifications of Radiation Protection Experts, Radiation Protection Officers and Radiation Workers, on the definition of their role and on a jointly agreed syllabus.
Purpose
The objectives of the Platform can be summarised as:
- to better integrate education and training into occupational radiation protection infrastructures in the Member, Candidate and Associated States of the European Union;
- to facilitate the transnational access to vocational education and training infrastructures;
- to harmonise the criteria and qualifications for and mutual recognition of RPEs;
- to remove obstacles for the mobility of these experts within the European Union.
The main outputs of the EUTERP Platform will consist of the exchange of information through this website, publication of regular Newsletters and organization of workshops. Links will be provided to other networks covering many radiation protection areas.
