Celso Osimani has an MSc in Industrial Chemistry, as well as a Masters in Radiation Protection and Health Physics from the University of Bologna. He has been a Qualified Expert since 1976 and is licensed for the technical management of an NPP and of a nuclear research reactor. As well as in Italy, he has worked in the Netherlands, the USA, China, Slovakia and for Armenia. For 22 years until 1995, he worked for the Trino NPP in different positions up to Plant Director and then 17 years For the EC-JRC at Ispra being responsible for Radiation Protection, safety, security, emergencies and decommissioning, specifically as Head of the Unit. At the same time he was the President of the Italian Radiation Protection Association (AIRP), of which he is currently the Chairman of their International Committee (AIRP-CI). Most recently he has been employed as a Senior Nuclear Adviser on all aspects of radiation chemistry, nuclear waste disposal and management and radiation safety in general, also teaching on regional courses funded by the European Commission. He was elected to the EUTERP Board from 1 January 2019.
